Hey everyone, I have got some super exciting news – in case you haven’t heard, famed Cirque du Soleil is making another appearance in Calgary this fall to the Grand Chapiteau, at Parking Lot # 6 on Stampede Park.
KOOZA is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil: it combines two circus traditions – acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor.
The show will be running from September 16, 2010 until October 10,2010. This is a must see performance for any age, so be sure to purchase your tickets before your preferred show date and time sells out!
I remember in 2005 when Alegría came to town under the Grand Chapiteau (“The Big Top”) set at the Currie Barracks. It was an unforgettable evening of awe-inspiring talent; words don’t even begin to do these performers justice. While I had seen previous shows at their home theatres in Las Vegas, the Grand Chapiteau still provided the exact same feel as if you were in a home theatre. Honestly, you will not even believe that this once bare parking lot has now been transformed into a fantastic arena for the show.
Truly do not take my word for it…read some reviews, watch some of the multimedia videos on the Cirque du Soleil websites, and most importantly – book your seats now to what is sure to be one of the most exciting evenings of your entire year! (Aside from perhaps the Sunday Rodeo Finals at Stampede.)
