Harry the Horse, the Stampede Royalty, and the Indian Princess were all on hand to meet and greet the children who were able to make it down to Stampede Park to experience Aggie Days today.

As part of the festivities, a rodeo was put on highlighting some of the events that you would typically see at a Stampede Rodeo. Things such as Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, and Barrel Racing were all on display, much to the delight of the children who could be heard hootin’ and hollerin’ from all sides of the Stampede Corral as they cheered on the cowboys and cowgirls as they performed in their various events. Some of the participants made themselves available for autographs after the event, which made many children happy.

Plenty of exhibits were on display in the BMO Centre that people could interact with, the most popular of them being the stage and live animals. The Grain Academy upstairs was open as well, and children and their teachers could be seen at all times during the day as they attended the presentations and workshops offered. Wagon rides were also offered outside for those who were feeling adventurous, and the kids (and some of the grown-ups as well) who took advantage of the opportunity could be seen smiling all day long.

Aggie Days and much more will be open to the public this weekend. In addition to what’s being offered exclusively to school children today and tomorrow, this weekend will feature other events such as the Stock Dog Trials, Canadian Horseshoeing Championships, and the Extreme Cowboy Clinic and Demonstration. Plus, the first 1,000 people through the door on both Saturday and Sunday will be offered a free pancake breakfast.

So whether you’re coming this weekend for Aggie Days or for one of the many other events and activities happening here this weekend, with plenty to see and do, you’re pretty much guaranteed a great weekend this week at Stampede Park!
