Lots of interesting performances coming to Stampede Park this week. Read on to find out who’ll be performing here, as well as to learn more about some of the other events happening on Park in the next seven days!

First, H1N1 vaccinations will continue to be given this week at the Stampede Grandstand to those who are considered high-risk. To find out who is eligible to receive the vaccination this week, as well as more information on H1N1 clinic locations and hours, see Alberta Health Services. Parking at the Grandstand Building for the duration of the H1N1 clinic is free.
Trying to beat the holiday rush? Why not head down to the Calgary Stampede Store? They’ve got lots of unique gift ideas at various pricing levels, and their current promotion includes a buy one, get one free deal on pairs of plush cowboy boot slippers! Looking for more deals? Make sure you stop by the store on Friday, Dec. 4 for their special holiday sales event. And while you’re down there, why not sign up for the Stampede Store’s Loyalty Program and put those purchases towards cool freebies for yourself? If you can’t make it down, you can also purchase authentic Calgary Stampede merchandise through the on-line store.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be playing at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The band’s musical style incorporates progressive rock, symphonic metal, and heavy metal, with influences from classical music. It’s something that has to be heard to be believed! Tickets available through Ticketmaster.
American pop singer Kelly Clarkson will also be performing at the Saddledome this week, along with Eric Hutchinson and Parachute. Tickets available through Ticketmaster. Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
You’ve seen him in such films as Dan in Real Life and Good Luck Chuck, and you’ve seen him perform on MADtv and Saturday Night Live. Now see him live! Also performing at the Saddledome this week is actor and comedian Dane Cook as part of the ISolated INcident comedy tour. Tickets available through Ticketmaster. Saturday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m.
One of the city’s biggest wine festivals will be coming to Stampede Park this week. An annual favourite, the Grape Escape will be at the BMO Centre, Hall D, November 20 and 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. and will feature samplings from over 60 producers of wine, beers, and spirits. Tickets are $40 per evening including GST, and are currently on sale at all Calgary Co-op Wines & Spirits locations.
Finally, the NHL’s Calgary Flames will be playing the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, Nov. 17, and the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, Nov.19, both games at the Saddledome and start at 7:30 p.m. The WHL’s Calgary Hitmen play the Spokane Chiefs on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. also at the Saddledome. Tickets for all three games are available through Ticketmaster.
