It’s Monday, which means it’s time for another edition of What’s Happening where we’ll highlight some of the events happening at Stampede Park in the next seven days.
This week: It’s all about the trade shows. Woodworking, digital photography, and anything and everything that could interest a woman highlight some of the things you’ll find on Park in the week ahead, so read on to find out more.
First, if things such as bargains, food, makeup, clothing, and fitness appeal to you, then you’ll love that the Calgary Women’s Show will be at the BMO Centre on October 24 and 25. With 200 exhibitors attending this year and a wide variety of things to see and do, you’ll be able to learn more about various services and products that appeal to women and are available in Calgary and the surrounding area. Makes the perfect excuse to get together with the lady friends for a nice weekend out. To learn more about the show, check this out.
For the professional and hobbyist woodworker, the Woodworking Machinery, Tool Show & Sale will be at the Big Four Building, Lower Level on October 23 to 25. Featuring 150 exhibitors selling every kind of tool and equipment that you can imagine, there will be some great deals and a wealth of valuable information and advice. With dozens of demonstrations as well as continuous lectures, seminars, and workshops occurring throughout the weekend, there’s something for everyone regardless of skill level.
If photography is more your thing, then you’ll be interested to hear that the 2009 Digital Photo Expo will be at the BMO Centre, Hall E on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday Oct. 25. The largest trade show of its kind in Western Canada, this exposition is focused on the latest in digital photographic technology. With demonstrations, clinics, and seminars, this show is geared toward a wide range of photo enthusiasts. See here for more information on tickets.
Are you a landlord or thinking about becoming one? Suite Success is the Calgary Apartment Association’s annual trade show where you’ll be able to learn more about the things you need to be aware of as a landlord in Calgary. This year it will be held in the Lower Level of the Big Four Building on Thursday, October 22.
Finally, the NHL’s Calgary Flames continue their five-game home stand as they take on the Columbus Bluejackets on Tuesday Oct. 20, and the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday Oct. 24 at the Pengrowth Saddledome. Meanwhile, the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen take on the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday Oct. 21, and the Seattle Winterhawks on Sunday Oct. 25, also at the Saddledome.
