July 11th, 2007 by Dustin Gorst

Hello everyone this is Dustin Gorst writing from the Calgary Stampede.  I am 21 years old and this is my sixth year outriding at the Calgary Stampede.  I started outriding when I was 16 behind my dad, Gary Gorst.  So far everything has gone as planned in my outriding career.  I was fortunate enough to win the Calgary Stampede riding behind Luke Tournier in 2005 at the age of 19.  At the ripe age of 20 I  accomplished another goal by receiving the high point champion outrider in the Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA).

For the last five nights everything has been rolling along smoothly.  I have been riding seven heats a night but for the next four nights I will be riding in all nine heats.  As it stands right now I have two of my drivers, Gary Gorst and Rick Fraser, sitting just on the outside looking in for the 100 000 dollar dash on Sunday night.  Hopefully we can stay safe and penalty free for the next four nights of racing.  So come out to the Stampede and watch me go round and round and do not forget to check up on my blog everyday to see how I am making out.
